ICCIE core course: Understanding Risk and Risk Retention Mechanisms

Elizabeth is the Managing Director of the Risk Finance & Captive Consulting (RFCC) Practice. In this role she is responsible for consulting with clients to evaluate and develop unique solutions using alternative financing methods either in conjunction with or distinct from traditional insurance markets.
Experience. Prior to joining Aon in 2016, Elizabeth served as the Director of Risk Management and Insurance at the Archdiocese of New York. Prior to her risk management role Liz established the captive and insurance management operations in the US for HSBC and provided captive consulting and management services to its clients. In her early career, Liz was an account manager for captive insurance companies with Johnson & Higgins, a risk financing underwriter for AIG and an audit & tax manager at KPMG specializing in insurance, reinsurance and alternative risk structures. She first began working in the captive insurance industry in 1989.

Elizabeth’s expertise includes extensive experience both as a buyer and provider of risk management services. She focuses on captive solutions and has expertise in accounting, taxation, risk management, captive operations and management and alternative risk solutions.

Elizabeth earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Champlain College, is a Certified Public Accountant in Vermont, and has earned the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Risk Finance designations. She is a Fellow with the International Center for Captive Insurance Education. She has held Director and Officer positions with multiple captive insurance companies and has served on various domicile Committees.
