Peter Toy

Peter Toy is Vice President of the Specialty Markets Unit for Munich Reinsurance America, Inc., working exclusively with alternative market clients.  His company provides risk transfer, risk sharing and risk management solutions to organizations other than insurance companies that take a significant amount of underwriting risk.

Peter is currently responsible for the production of program business with both new and existing customer relationships.  Prior to assuming his current position, he held several manager positions within Munich-American RiskPartners and American Re with responsibility for marketing, production, underwriting and account management.

Peter joined American Re-Insurance Company in 1977 as a Facultative Casualty Underwriter.  He has spent over 35 years in the insurance industry beginning his career in 1972 as an underwriter trainee with CNA Insurance Company and also as an Account Broker with Alexander & Alexander .

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and has taken various courses at the College of Insurance and Columbia University Business School earning his CPCU, ARM and ARe designations.  He co-authored an article on umbrella coverage analysis and has been a speaker and panelist at several industry functions.
