William Bartlett
Bill Bartlett is President of Bartlett Actuarial Group, Ltd., an independent property and casualty actuarial consulting firm providing services to clients in the alternative risk transfer market. The firm specializes in captive feasibility studies, captive program formation, self-insurance programs and actuarial certification of insurance reserves.
Prior to forming his own firm, Bill held senior positions in NYC for 30 years with major brokerage, audit and insurance companies. His past experience included extensive audit and insurance accounting issues involving traditional property and casualty insurance companies. Engagements included loss and premium reserving, valuation studies, reserving and funding studies for self insurance programs, rate and reserving reviews for regulatory authorities, including expert witness testimony.
Currently Bill specializes in assisting clients on alternative risk transfer issues. He has participated in engagements involving the formation, implementation and on-going servicing of alternative risk transfer programs including self-insurers, captives, and risk retention groups. He also provides actuarial assistance to traditional property and casualty insurance companies, including testing and certifying as to the adequacy of carried insurance reserves. In addition, he provides actuarial assistance to several state departments of insurance with regard to financial examination of traditional insurance companies. Further, he reviews captive and risk retention group applications for several domiciles.
Bill thoroughly enjoys the personal relationship he has developed with clients of his own firm and looks forward to helping clients solve their challenging insurance issues. He is a frequent speaker and has written several articles with regard to topics associated with captives and alternative risk transfer programs.
