Current Responsibilities:

Mike Douglas is responsible for business development for Aon Captive and Insurance Management including the formation of captive insurance companies, group captive insurance companies, captive reinsurance and captive consulting.

Special Areas of Expertise:
Mike joined Aon in 1999 working with Aon’s captive consulting practice in New York specializing in the development of alternative risk strategies, particularly risk financing, including analysis of current insurance programs, retention levels, design of programs.

Prior Industry Experience:

Mike began his insurance career as a property and casualty reinsurance underwriter in the London market for eleven years for Unione Italiana (now Swiss Re). He spent five years performing forensic reinsurance auditing and dispute resolution for Ernst and Young in Bermuda. Mike then spent five years in captive management and reinsurance brokerage for Marsh in Bermuda, specializing in distressed risk, reinsurance recoveries and debt collection.

Mike is a Fellow of the British Chartered Insurance Institute and a Certified Member of the Bermuda Insurance Institute. He is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) in the United States and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
