Nick Newman

Nick Newman’s career spans over 38 years, all in the insurance field, beginning with American Mutual Liability Insurance Company in 1968 as a salesman.

After four and one half years with American Mutual, having risen to the position of branch manager of the White Plains office for personal lines, Nick took a position as an underwriter with Midland Insurance Company where he underwrote direct  and facultative excess casualty business.

 

In 1974 Nick began his long tenure as a reinsurance treaty broker. Nick held positions with several leading intermediaries highlighted with the formation of Sten Re Cole & Associates in 1979, along with two partners, where he remained until 1990, following its sale to a major retail broker in 1985.

Nick’s most recent positions include Executive Vice President of Cooper Gay Steele, Inc.’s New York office, until founding Innovative Intermediaries, LLC in April of 2006.

Nick has worked in all lines of property and casualty reinsurance with an emphasis on professional liability, worker’s compensation programs, and alternative risk projects in recent years.
