With the establishment of a newly revised Tennessee captive statute in 2011, it was clear that having qualified regulatory personnel was critical to our success as a domicile of choice. As a result, every new examiner, analyst or attorney supporting the Captive Section is required to obtain their ACI designation from ICCIE. This requirement so significantly improved the strength of the Captive Section that the examination of captives can be performed within the Section…allowing us to pass substantial contract examination cost savings along to captive owners.

“The success of the captive insurance industry is heavily dependent on the quality and expertise of all of its players. ICCIE does a tremendous job in providing access to timely relevant content
for developing new talent, keeping experienced talent abreast of new information and serving as a catalyst for innovative thinking by seasoned veterans. An added bonus is the role ICCIE plays
in supporting a spirit of community and camaraderie among captive insurance industry participants.”

Several of our staff have gone through the program and several more are enrolled which we fully support as it helps us in developing the talent we need to service our growing portfolio of clients in various onshore and offshore domiciles. It’s also been interesting to see several of our clients that are new to captives take advantage of the program which is great because it makes our job easier when our clients understand the issues and ask the right questions”

USA Risk Group encourages all staff to enroll in ICCIE classes. When hiring, we find one of the biggest hurdles is understanding insurance. We can find accountants, but accountants with insurance expertise are harder to come by. The ACI program helps our employees understand captive insurance programs, rather than just the pure accounting aspects. This in turn improves the services we are able to provide to our clients.

The ICCIE program has earned its reputation for fulfilling the need for specialized education and training. ICCIE courses are taught by a full array of captive industry experts who have contributed to the success of the industry around the globe. For the seasoned captive insurance professional, ICCIE’s course offerings will serve to strengthen your knowledge base and ensure that you stay current with new topics. For anyone new to the captive industry seeking to obtain a well-rounded education in the discipline, ICCIE is highly recommended.”

One determination of an industry’s health is how well knowledge, wisdom, and insights are passed to the next generation. Going back to the concept discussions about ICCIE, I believed the captive industry needed an educational platform to assure its future success. ICCIE has met this challenge and will continue to serve the development needs of the captive industry.

For our captive industry that we love at this stage of our history, that idea surfaces in ICCIE and the stamp of approval from your peers is the ACI designation. I encourage you to pursue the ACI designation as a key ingredient of your professional growth in our special captive insurance professional industry.

The ACI designation carries with it a great deal of sway within the industry and it is the training path that I use for Beecher Carlson’s captive management leadership group.
