ELECTIVE COURSE
5 CPE credits are available for the successful completion of this course.
Captive Insurance requires a Best in Class Claims Management program to be successful. In this course, participants will learn the various options for Claims Management and Administration for a Captive Program as well as gain an understanding of the role of the Reinsurer and Reinsurance needs of a Captive.
In this intermediate level course, participants will learn the:
- What to look for when selecting a Claims Administrator
- Stakeholders in the Claim process
- Reinsurance relationships and Reinsurer expectations
- Operations for the Claims process
- Understanding Loss results and premium implications
Delivery Method: Group-Live via online platforms WebEx and Blackboard (minimum of broadband Internet connection and headset with microphone recommended)
In addition to self-paced reading and assignment work, students will be required to attend three webconference sessions. A recommended student led “Office Hour” session is available following the last webconference. There are no prerequisite requirements for this course. Prior to the first webconference participants need to to access Blackboard to review webconference directions and course material.
