How to Join an Online Class in WebEx (webconference)

  1. Go to iccie.webex.com  (we recommend you do this 5-10 minutes before the start of class)
  2. In the area marked “Enter meeting information” in the middle of the screen, enter the course Session Number
    • The course Session Number and Password are in the “Important Information” email sent from ICCIE
    • You do not need to sign in to WebEx, and you do not need your own WebEx account
  3. Click “Join”
  4. If prompted, enter course Password and click “OK”
  5. Enter your full name, e-mail address, and course Password
    • We recommend you type the password.  If you copy and paste, make sure there are no spaces before or after it.
  6. Click “Join Now”
  7. WebEx will then automatically set up WebEx Training. Note: This can take a few minutes.
    • If WebEx prompts you to add an extension, follow the instructions they provide
    • To avoid delays, you can set up WebEx Training before the day of class. See below for instructions.
  8. Choose “Use Computer for Audio” on the Audio Conference popup window, then click “Call Using Computer”
    • Please do not use the phone number provided by WebEx.  It is for instructors only.
    • We recommend you use headphones plugged in to your computer for optimal audio quality

How to Set Up WebEx Training – Optional

WebEx Training will set up automatically when you join a class session, but it can take a few minutes.  You can save time by setting it up in advance.  We recommend you do this before the day of the first webconference to ensure you are ready when class begins.  You must have administrator privileges on your computer to set up the Training.

  1. Go to iccie.webex.com
  2. Click on the drop down menu on left side of screen (looks like three horizontal lines)
  3. Select “WebEx Training” from left side tool bar
  4. Under “Set Up,” click “WebEx Training”
  5. Click on “Set Up” button
  6. If WebEx prompts you to add an extension, follow the instructions they provide
  7. (Optional) To set your time zone in WebEx, go to “Set Up” then select “Preference” and select your time zone preferences
