Live from the VCIA Conference
ICCIE Presents:   Property Risk in Captives: An Idea Whose Time Has Come?

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, August 13, 2024

Date:  Wednesday. August 14, 2024
Time:  8:45 am – 9:45 am Eastern Daylight Time

Program Summary:
First party risk is not often the first line of coverage people consider when assembling a captive program. Yet recent dramatic changes in the property insurance market have driven alternative approaches and structures in reaction to pricing and capacity constraints, with insureds looking to captives to cope with the changing commercial insurance landscape. How can the captive’s capital be enlisted to serve “double duty” for the parent?  Panelists will discuss multiple structures and tools – some new and some old – that are being used to harness the precious capacity that remains available in the market.  Attendees will come away armed with new ways of thinking about how to tackle interesting and vexing issues related to first party risk.

Learning objectives.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
– Learn alternative transaction structures conducive to placing first party risk in a captive
– Become better acquainted with emerging types of first party risk and loss that can affect an organization’s ability to execute on its business goals
